For my first blog entry, I thought it might be fitting to start with breakfast!
Ingredients:
- Hard Bread
- 1 cup half&half (or milk)
- 3 Jumbo Eggs
- 2 Tbsp Flour
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Vanilla
- enough Butter to coat frying pan
Directions:
- Mix the Half & Half, Eggs, Flour, Sugar, Cinnamon and Vanilla in a bowl large enough to fully submerge slices of your bread.
- Place a large frying pan on burner at medium to high heat. Place butter in pan, and spread until butter coats the bottom of the pan.
- Thoroughly soak pieces of the hard bread in the mixture from step 1.
- Fry bread until golden brown. Garnish with fresh fruit, powdered sugar, whipped cream or maple syrup (or any combination thereof).
Helpful hints:
- If the bread is too hard to slice, try sprinkling water on top and microwaving for a few seconds.
